In mid-2020, the United States Mint put together an allotment of unsold 2016-2018 products and offered them to select bulk dealers. The 1oz Proof Platinum American Eagle was a small portion, 36 to be exact, of that allotment. This coin is designated 1 of 36 and attributed to the West Point Mint Hoard for which the allotment was titled. With a 0 denomination and produced in a Proof finish, this 2016 PAE is in a PERFECT PR70 Deep Cameo condition from PCGS. It is also a part of the Mercanti Signed Mint Engravers Series as designated with the blue insert inside the holder.
