Description

This bino is not a true Zeiss binocular but a fake made in the 1920ies in France in such amounts that the firm Zeiss warned interested people to buy one of these. Details can be found in the textbook on the history of Zeiss binoculars on pages 757 - 775 (Hans T. Seeger: Zeiss-Handferngläser 1919 - 1946, Modelle, Merkmale, Mythos, ISBN 978-3-00-049464-2). Dr. Seeger states that these fakes are part of the Zeiss bino history and that bino collectors are interested in these. Fakes of this type are harder to come by than a true Zeiss bino of the 1920ies.
